The Senior Tax Accountant Hungary will be responsible for applying local statutory and US GAAP rules to Colgate-Palmolive Hungary Kft in collaboration with the Colgate Shared Service Center and tax service provider. This role is  also responsible for accounting and tax compliance by leading accounting & tax audits, tax planning projects, transfer pricing documentation.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Managing all general tax and accounting monthly/quarterly activities
    • Accruals, reclasses, intercompany/employee/other billings, expense reports, payroll booking, deferred tax, fixed asset tasks, etc.
    •  Taxes (benefit taxes, local tax, innovation fee, environmental tax, VAT)
    • NVO planning and monitoring
    • G/L Reconciliations
    • Initiate tax and other payment proposals
    • DLC leasing system
    • Delivering Corporate reporting for accounting and tax (FTCQ, Tax books, 10K, CFN, Country by Country Reporting, etc.).
  2. Preparing Statutory financials and Tax reporting.
  3. Preparing US GAAP - Local GAAP reconciliations and calculating resulting deferred tax assets and liabilities.
  4. Managing reporting to other entities: Re’lem - environmental report (annual); Hungarian statistical monthly, quarterly and yearly reports; MDR - supported by E&Y; Intrastat (monthly); Monitor Online invoice reporting and address issues if they arise; Manage Cegkapu activities as they arise (i.e., authorization of biocid products for distribution, verification of employment, etc.).
  5. Managing annual audit with PWC.
  6. Monitoring changes in statutory and tax laws and implementing the changes.
  7. Awareness of all tax matters in Hungary to advise teams in best solutions to their tax related questions.
  8. Monitoring 3rd party preparation of tax returns.
  9. Managing IT Relationship for the maintenance of tax reporting needs.
  10. Implementation of global policies and other global projects and initiatives.
  11. Monitoring and recommendation of transfer pricing adjustments and reporting.
  12. Provide back up to Tax Advisors for TP documentation preparation: Ensuring documentation is in place for Hungary.
  13. Ownership of  tax audits, tax inquiries, litigation support  of CP-Hungary
  14. Supporting the Regional Tax COE Director - Europe AED on the design and evaluation of business planning and provide advice regarding potential tax consequences.
  15. Working with regional treasury and legal in maximizing cash remittances in accordance with our global capital structure strategy and in context to statutory requirements and limitations.
  16. Perform relevant U.S. Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) internal control tests and certification in line with Colgate-Palmolive company policies
  17. Company Secretary roles; Reviewing (finance perspective) and signing contracts.
  18. Collaboration with Colgate shared service center, local and hub colleagues.

Education and Experience required

  • University/Master degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting/Tax consulting firm, completed with an Accounting/Tax experience in a commercial company (minimum 1 year)
  • Proficiency in  ERP  ( ie SAP ) systems is a plus
  • Proficiency in English and Hungarian language
  • PC excellence and ability to learn new systems
