This Senior Finance Analyst - Commercial NVO's position is responsible for planning and tracking all non-variable overhead spend (NVO) for the Hill's U.S. Commercial Team.  This includes budget preparation, actual versus budget variance explanation, headcount tracking and reporting, evaluation and tracking of auto leases for field sales personnel, bonus tracking and reporting and various other financial analysis and reporting associated with Commercial non-variable overhead.

 

More specifically, this role is charged with responsibility for budget preparation, and latest estimate and monthly rolling estimate spending forecasts for Commercial non-variable overhead for the Customer Development (Sales) and Marketing organizations. Duties include performance of all month, quarter and calendar year-end close; all actual versus budget latest estimate reporting inclusive of bonus and commission calculations, tracking and reporting; and the evaluation, preparation and tracking of automobile leases for field sales personnel.

 

Basic required qualifications for the role include:

  • 5+ years of prior, diversified successful finance and/or accounting work experience
  • An undergraduate degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field of study
  • Solid command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access applications
  • Flexibility and availability to work extended hours and/or weekends, when necessary.

 

Preferred qualifications for the role include:

  • A graduate degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field of study and/or Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) certification
  • Proficiency with SAP financial systems 
  • Advanced-level expertise with Excel and Access applications

  • Must be able to demonstrate a solid understanding and actual application of internal control structures, systems and processes
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication skills including interpersonal, oral, written and presentation abilities 
  • Interactive personal skills that fit a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to execute tasks and responsibilities independently
