The Manager, Quality Systems, Pet Nutrition Center (PNC) is responsible for the oversight of Quality Systems at the Pet Nutrition Center.  This position ensures the PNC (a Global Technology Center or GTC) is compliant with the Colgate Quality Standards.  More specifically, this involves ensuring comprehensive SOPs are developed and implemented at the Experimental Food Laboratory (EFL), the Analytical Laboratories and throughout the site to deliver the quality processes required by the Standards.  This position will strongly support the PNC through audits and site inspections.  These activities will be used to identify gaps, develop action plans and drive compliance.  This position ensures the PNC site will be audit ready at any time.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions)

  • Develop and implement quality programs and SOPs to ensure compliance to the Colgate Quality Standards, Quality Systems, adherence to cGMPs, external regulatory agencies, inspection and certification bodies. Organize and run audit readiness and inspection activities.
  • Support the ingredient quality strategy by ensuring consistent and high quality of ingredients used in research and product development formulations.
  • Oversight of the raw material and finished product testing strategy as a means to protect brand equity and ensure product design quality.
  • Actively participate in the company ESM program for the auditing of raw material suppliers, contract manufacturers, warehouses and co-packers.
  • Develop, update and execute the site Quality Plan


Education/ Experience Requirements


Basic requirements include:

  • BS degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Biology or other related field
  • 9 years quality and/or food/pharmacutical manufacturing experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of plant quality systems, food safety programs and cGMP compliance


Preferred qualifications include:

  • MS in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Biology or other related field
  • Certification in HACCP and GFSI audit schemes
  • 7 years quality and/or food/pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
