Job Summary:

The Hill’s Science Diet Brand Manager is responsible for the development and execution of brand plans, NHP (Neighborhood Pet) and Farm shopper programs, and go-to-market activities to achieve the brand’s short and long term business objectives. Responsible for leading the brand team in developing strategic priorities, IMC (Integrated Marketing campaign) briefs, assessing critical issues, and recommending strategic and tactical solutions. Monitor and analyze sales volumes, market trends, digital and promotional initiatives, and competitive activity. Ensure consistent and effective brand messaging to the end consumer, and consistent consideration of RE (Retail Environment) - specific needs/tactics.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develop, align and execute brand marketing plans for specific categories
  • Set KPI’s to track 6P’s (Product, Placement, Price, Promotion, POP & Protocol) and the action plans to close the opportunities. Collaborate with CDO (Customer Development)/sales analytics in tracking these metrics.
  • Execute overall POP and promotion strategies for major IMC’s. Co-ordinate with the Lead Shopper Marketer to ensure all customer RE needs are accounted for in touchpoint planning upfront
  • Plan and analyze consumer and trade promotions, and recommend improvements and best practices
  • Identify & lead key “test and learns”
  • Executing national programs and lead local retail environment/customer programs aligned to the brand strategies
  • Work closely with the Lead Shopper Marketer and CD Team leader to develop the shopper marketing plans for their RE/customer
  • Research shopper & category trends. Identify shopper insights gaps and develop solutions from findings. As applicable, work with E-Shopper Marketing Manager for eCommerce activation
  • Develop strong business and functional understanding of the category, our products and the competitive set, and develop plans to address issues/opportunities
  • Develop & utilize strong consumer & shopper insights of the category, market and condition of focus.
  • Understand the pet specialty RE’s, and field team needs, to deliver strong promotional and marketing programs.
  • Support Long Lead Planning, Budget Review, and Mid-Year Review
  • Ongoing monitoring and analysis on brand sales, volume, market share, promotional activities, competitive insights
  • Recommend areas for brand improvement and remediation

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 4+ years of commercial experience of which 2+ years in brand marketing, retail marketing, trade marketing or management consulting

  • MBA
