Position Purpose:


Enable business growth and efficiency in the Amazon Business by applying advanced analytic techniques to traditional and emerging sources of data.  Contribute to a culture of business integration, innovation, and continual improvement.

Manage and execute best in class analytic capability for pet food category including:


Marketing Mix Modeling

Revenue Growth Management: Pricing and promotion elasticity and simulation

Portfolio Optimization/Assortment modeling

Shopper and product decision hierarchies

Forecasting and predictive analytics

Business Tracking and Evaluation


Partner with Hill’s category functions including Marketing, insights, finance and retail marketing.


Responsibilities include:


  • Lead and implement analytic initiatives including Marketing Mix Modeling, pricing, revenue management, portfolio optimization/assortment, shopper decision hierarchies, and predictive forecasting.
  • Share integrated learning by partnering with the Commercial team by connecting the dots and linking various types of data (example: Nielsen, shopper, expert panel or consumer data) to influence business decisions
  • Conduct ROI analysis of any customer/consumer investment related to commercial channels and provide the analytical support to all Test&Learn, in conjunction with marketing and finance for projects implemented by the team
  • Leverage e-audit insights to assess Hill’s and competitor instore/clinic/online presence, determine and lead the implementation of all corrective actions, to coordinate with the customer teams and/or customer for the content for our brands to meet both the customer and Hill’s guidelines.
  • Support the commercial channel teams in the business planning process, including the administration and input into business planning system for new items, promotions, promotion grids and other instore/online activities.
  • Stay informed about key trends and competitor activities in the assigned channel segment
  • Deliver full promotional analysis of all retail environment activity to contribute to promotion program efficiency and optimized ROI. Conduct pre & post evaluations, regularly assess ROI with outputs and recommendations shared with key cross functional business partners.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing function to deliver and execute the best content for our brands on all E-Commerce sites. To be an eCommerce expert in Search, Relevance and Navigation and advice Digital team on retailer specifics.
  • Assist the commercial channel teams in the development and measurement of all customer joint business plans                                      


Expected Areas of Skills:


  • Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiating, persuading, and consensus building.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Strong cross-organizational collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with multiple sources of data and suppliers (Nielsen, IRI, Shopper data, other Advanced Analytic suppliers).
  • Proficiency in fundamental tracking and business review including Nielsen Nitro and HH panel fundamentals (Source of Volume, new product tracking, segmentation, shopper conversion/leakage, penetration, switching)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MMM, Pricing and Promotion Elasticity and modeling, Decision Hierarchy, Portfolio Optimization/ Assortment, Forecasting and Predictive Analytics
  • Experience in breakthrough capabilities including  Data Visualization and Artificial Intelligence a plus
  • Knowledge of shopper capabilities ( HH panel, retailer loyalty card, InfoScout,  other shopper data )
  • Knowledge of advanced targeting/direct response a plus.
  • Demonstrated competencies in consultative skills, change management, action/results oriented, partnership, effective interpersonal skills, clear/persuasive communicator, problem solving and strategic thinker – relevant insights tied to strategy and business growth, anticipating opportunities/issues, developing workable insights/solutions, and activation      


    What you need for this position:


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in CPG industry working with Amazon in sales / marketing
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in syndicated and advanced analytics


It’s an advantage to have:


  • Advanced degree in related field (MBA / Masters in Statistics)
  • Strong mathematical background
