Job Summary;

  • Provide a direct work with specialist pet retail operators at store level to ensure the highest levels of specialist endorsement, visibility and assortment for Hill´s and its brands. Be responsible for optimal coverage of the territory both in current and potential customers (within distribution guidelines). Communicate persuasively the technical superiority, practical application and commercial benefits of Hill´s products, resulting in increased distribution, recommendation and sales in specialist pet stores in the assigned territory.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities;

 

  • Develop and maintain high standards of knowledge in small animal nutrition and Hill’s business initiatives through training, self study and market evaluation.
  • Represent Hill’s Pet Nutrition as the strategic partner of choice in small animal nutrition to specified veterinary customers, through regular practice visits, meetings and seminars. Develop regular contact with all Health Care Team members: clinic manager, vets partners, vets employees, vet nurses, receptionists.
  • Deliver information on Hill’s products and services through excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills. Deliver professional sales support (seminars, meetings, merchandising) to specified practices as necessary to enable achievement by practice of agreed objectives
  • Implement Customer Development and marketing activities for Hill’s, to ensure:
    • awareness and endorsement by the veterinary profession of Hill’s existing products and services
    • rapid acceptance, endorsement and distribution of new products
    • increased distribution on existing product lines
    • establishment of shelf space at least equivalent to the share of Hill’s products within each clinic
    • establishment of merchandising and practice protocols to Hill’s Perfect Clinic standards
    • Increase recruitment of new users of Hill’s brands
    • Increase sales of Prescription Diet and Science Diet in the assigned territory.
    • Manage the assigned budget and ensure timely submission of POs to head office
  • Implement in partnership with vet Customer Development management, annual business development plans for specified veterinary clinics, which realise both the needs of customers and Hill’s overall commercial objectives.
  • Monitor the achievement of specified accounts objectives and develop, prepare and implement plans for remedial action where necessary
  • Represent Hill’s at meetings/conferences e.g. Training days, Congress, Local and National meetings, Client Meetings and Practice Open Days
  • Follow agreed call value (coverage, frequency, productivity) and activities in the call; use the 6-steps-to-win process in the call.
  • Keep abreast of trends in the veterinary profession and of competitive activity and report on new activity to center.
  • Maintain current and accurate records in the Hill’s reporting  system
    • of all veterinary practices in the territory
    • of all professional and administrative activities
    • T&E expenses

 

Required Qualifications;

  • Bachelor degree required. Degree in Veterinary Medicine is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3–4 years sales experience in veterinary industry, pharmaceutical company or Nutrition Company preferred
  • Expected Areas of Skills
    • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, and ability to learn company specific tools & programs
    • Fluent in English
    • Full and valid driver’s license required
