About the role


Reporting to the Customer Development Team Leader, the Customer Development Manager – Wholesale States/Groups is responsible for the achievement of sales targets and market share growth across the full portfolio, within State Independent Grocery customers and major banner groups. You will be assisting with the delivery of the National Business Plan and key growth strategies, as well as maximising support of new line launches and use of promotional spend.

Critical to this exciting role, is an ability to work within a team. You will be supporting the Wholesale team and Field Sales Managers in securing best-in-class execution of marketing activities and the promotional program in delivering profitable growth.




Building and managing successful relationships with key stakeholders

Development of promotional strategy and action plans to close customer gaps, including post-event analysis and recommendation

Monitoring sales and distribution performance, particularly for new products, and taking timely action to drive continuous improvement

Implementing and maintaining Category Management initiatives within key banner groups developed in partnership with the Category & Shopper Development Manager

Partner with state operational teams to ensure all key account strategies, plans and programs are implemented with excellence at field level

Coordinating special events in co-operation with Marketing and Customer Marketing


Skills & Experience


Success in this role will come through relevant experience as a Key Account Manager or Account Executive within the FMCG industry. Degree qualified, you will be able to demonstrate success in the grocery channel in relation to negotiation, analytical ability, building long-term relationships and you will hold a high level of commercial and business acumen (including a strong competency in the use of Microsoft Office and Aztec/Nielsen).
