Job Summary:

The eCommerce Customer Manager is the functional expert on eCommerce within CP Canada.  Responsible for planning, managing and negotiating with pure-play eComm customers (Amazon.ca, well.ca, etc) to deliver business objectives across all of Colgate's brands/categories. Collaborates closely with NA Hub Marketing regarding eComm content, product portfolio, search, ratings and review programs, and eComm media.  Engages with local Retail Marketing team to ensure eComm 6P and new product launch strategies are optimized for the RE.  Tracks and analyzes performance data to make fact-based recommendations regarding the best tactics and strategies to drive growth. Acts as a consultant and provides support to brick and mortar customer teams in developing and driving growth with their customers’ e-commerce initiatives

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Work independently to develop, negotiate and implement customer plans to achieve financial and 6P+A objectives for all of Colgate's brands/categories, and deliver annual sales/margin targets.
  • Effectively utilize available analytical tools (Vendor Central reports, ARA premium, Brandview, etc.) to understand online performance and identify issues and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as NA Hub Marketing, Canadian Retail Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain functions to build business opportunities and ensure planning accuracy.
  • Accurately forecast and plan business in CBP, and ensure product transitions and pricing changes are managed effectively both internally and within the customer's systems.
  • Monitor media and available industry reporting to stay abreast of relevant insights and developments to inform optimization of eComm strategies and initiatives.
  • Works closely with the Global and North America teams to implement best eCommerce practices in Canada
  • Acts as an internal consultant and enabler for other customer development teams as they establish and grow their eCommerce business.

 

Basic requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of consumer goods industry experience (1 of them being in eCommerce)
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

 

Expected areas of Skill, Knowledge & Ability

  • E-commerce customer management experience and/or strong understanding of e-commerce strategies in the CPG industry
  • Sales experience including business planning, negotiation & customer management
  • Experience data/analytics, ideally within the eCommerce environment 
  • Experience with eCommerce content development, media management, search management an asset
