The candidate will be responsible for leading implementation of new formulations and providing technical support for a portfolio of North American oral care products.  Specific activities include formula optimization, validation, scale-up, in conjunction with Supply Chain, and implementation.  The individual should have knowledge in materials science, inorganic and surface chemistry.  The candidate must be able to contribute to the strategy by understanding critical technical requirements in terms of the experimental design, measurement science and formulation to develop an overall project plan that fulfills the business objectives.


The candidate must be able to work effectively on cross-functional teams that include partners from Marketing, Supply Chain, Insights and Quality.  A qualified candidate must be able to independently manage multiple technical projects concurrently and effectively utilize both internal and external resource to achieve project objectives.




  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree (BA/MA) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience developing and/or implementing consumer products
  • Technical understanding of related chemistry and related science fields
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – required
  • Self-motivated but able to work well within a dynamic team environment


Preferred Qualifications


The ideal candidate will:


  • Possess technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: surfactants, active agents, delivery systems, rheology and statistics/experimental design
  • Understand industry/competitive trends, claim substantiation and regulatory requirements for over-the-counter drugs in US & CA
  • Be a creative problem solver
  • Possess strong project planning/prioritization and management, analytical decision making and organizational skills
