Colgate-Palmolive invites application to the PTC (Process Technology Center) position located in Piscataway, NJ. This position is responsible for managing the Piscataway Oral Care Pilot Plant, the Piscataway Raw Materials’ warehouse, PCP Small Batch PTCs, and the Consumer Packaging Operation (CPO)

This role is accountable for the management of technical staff and coordination with resident contractors, Sodexo and Veolia, to provide service support to the pilot plant operations. The position is responsible for the execution and fulfillment of the making, filling, and packaging/shipping of batches in Oral Care and PCP (Liquids, Bar Soap, AP/DEO). The operational efforts support product/process development, stability, clinical studies, consumer preference studies (HUTs, ICPT, Panel Tests, etc.); rheology evaluations, and other support to develop new CP products.

The PTC Leader is expected to develop collaborative partnerships with R&D and GSC Engineering. The individual is expected to deliver the agreed to business results while maintaining positive employee relations. Strong relationship building ability is required for interactions with key stakeholders in the organization.

The primary accountabilities of the role include customer service execution, financial performance, production, Quality, Microbiology, EOHS, Labor Relations.

 

Specific Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Accountable for the quality, and execution of product and process development work, and study fulfillment in the PTC & CPO, and its ability to deliver high levels of service to all R&D, Engineering, marketing, TSCI, Sensory, etc. customers, regardless of whether product is for local stability/aging, testing (clinical/consumer preference), process engineering, rheological evaluation, and equipment development.
  • The PTC Leader is accountable for the PTC $1.5mm PTC budget, and the zero-based budget for the CPO. Develops and implements Capital Expense Budgets.
  • Interfaces and liaises with category R&D, engineering, GSC, Quality, Micro and commercial business partners to manage communication and information flow
  • Ensures effective implementation of new technology, equipment strategies, and products within the PTC.
  • Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive, state, local, and federal guidelines related to EOHS, Quality, and Regulatory.
  • Communicates and implements the GTC & GSC vision, mission, strategy, and objectives within the PTC & CPO.
  • Develops and executes an appropriate communication strategy for the PTC & CPO to support the on-going achievement of the business goals.
  • Fulfilling all aspects of packaging/labeling/shipping for internal and external studies and evaluation.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related (Masters degree preferred)
  • 6+ years of professional experience with a significant amount of time working in Supply Chain

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Understanding of product development process
  • Understanding of material movements in SAP, PDM/PLM, CIM, and DMS
  • Engineering process development process
  • cGMP and Quality requirements
  • EOHS and behavioral based safety programs, CP and regulatory
  • Knowledge of FP&R programs and processes.
