Global Automation Engineering Manager

Scope of Responsibility:

The Global Automation Engineering Manager is responsible to develop, maintain, and implement automation strategy consistent to goals and capital management. Assign, guide, and direct engineering projects and work in support of business priorities. Ensure the delivery of compliant, efficient, and cost-effective engineering solutions on-time and on budget. This position will provide the technical expertise to maintain and improve all aspects of automated systems and will provide direction, coaching, guidance and development for the automated site maintenance staff.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop a global understanding of implementing Smart Factories technologies globally.

  • Plan, schedule, conduct and manage various automation engineering projects, ensuring all projects adhere to acceptable engineering practices and compliance regulations, are appropriately staffed and are run within budget.

  • Lead the road map to assure certain technologies are standardized globally working with our global partners.

  • Lead “test and learn" strategy put in place on new technologies and determine those that "win" and then roll-out with a strategic view.

  • Drive strategic initiatives cross-functionally with systems and FP&R to assure our Smart Factory goals are met.

  • Work with the Category Engineering Directors to deploy our strategy.

  • Get external identifying best practices in the Industrial Internet of Things in support of new product launches,

  • processes and equipment improvements, automation, and other projects driving cost reduction, supply reliability, and quality compliance improvement.

  • Drive complex business analysis to identify business opportunities to improve revenue and profitability

  • Coordinate continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and productivity improvement activities in a matrix organization.

  • Convert data to actionable projects to produce results to improve process performance.

  • Prepare/review capital and expense forecasts and address variance issues.

  • Partner with vendor partners to ensure timely and accurate project implementation.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education / Experience:  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics

 

Experience:  

• 10+ years of industry experience of which 5-10 are Engineering/ Global Supply Chain Systems

  • Have a global perspective and be willing to collaborate on international projects

  • Executive presence and strong presentation skills to interact with senior level management
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and to meet deadlines with sense of urgency.
