This role encompasses (1) review of tax accounting for international operations and (2) special tax projects which include transfer pricing as it relates to bill out of Corporate overhead expenses and (3) calculation of Research & development (R&D) tax credit. The individual would work with finance and global tax teams to ensure that tax reporting of key overseas subsidiaries is in accordance with ASC 740, ensure that Corporate overhead expenses are billed out in accordance with transfer pricing rules and R&D tax credit is accurate and complete. The candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of tax reporting for international operations under ASC 740 and experience with domestic tax compliance.

 

Tax Reporting Review For Key Overseas Subsidiaries

  • Review current and deferred income tax provision prepared by overseas subsidiaries
  • Review transactions documented in tax balance sheet accounts analysis prepared by overseas subsidiaries
  • Review balance sheet test for deferred tax asset and liabilities prepared by overseas subsidiaries
  • Effectively communicate review comments with overseas subsidiaries to ensure that tax reporting is accurate and complete
  • Keep up to date with current international tax developments that impact tax accounting and work with overseas subsidiaries and global tax team to ensure that impact is accounted for
  • Perform research under ASC 740 and effectively communicate conclusions

 

Special Tax Projects

  • For Corporate overhead billouts, liaise with Senior Tax Counsel and Finance team to understand Corporate overhead to bill out process, methodology and accounting, ensure billout is completed timely and taxes recorded are accurate.
  • For R&D credit, collect and review R&D projects from R&D center and work with external tax advisors to determine R&D tax credit.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
  • Master’s in Accounting or Taxation preferred
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in tax accounting and tax compliance required with minimum 4 years in Public Accounting OR minimum 8 years experience in Private, operating at Manager level or above.
  • CPA license, preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of tax reporting under ASC 740 and conduct research as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly motivated and demonstrate leadership experience in working with teams on cross-functional projects and multitasking
  • Must demonstrate proficient use of tax software and have good excel skills
  • Readiness to travel annually as needed (estimated at 10%)
