Position Description

  • Develop Analytics as a strategic core competency to drive growth. Manage and execute best in class strategic analytic capability, including:
    • Business Tracking and Evaluation Marketing 
    • Mix Modeling Pricing and promotion elasticity and simulation Trade/in-store promotion optimization
    • Portfolio Optimization (assortment modeling) 
    • Forecasting and predictive analytics
  • Partner with the cross-functional commercial business team including Marketing, Customer Development, Retail Marketing, Innovation, Finance and category, and shopper insights.
  • Prepare the analytics agenda and team for the future – including leading the integration of different data sources.
  • Demonstrated competencies in advanced analytics, consultative skills, change management, action/results oriented, partnership, effective interpersonal skills, clear/persuasive communicator, problem-solving and strategic thinker – relevant insights tied to strategy, workable solutions, taking action, anticipating issues.


Roles and responsibilities

  • Defining an up-to-date analytics strategy, agenda for the commercial organization.
  • Lead the analytics team to deliver up to date analytics approaches, tools, and insights that drive business growth in this changing commercial, retail, and media environment.
  • Elevate the performance, optimize,  impact, and nurture the development of the analytics team.
  • Help the team move beyond traditional sources of data and tools to embrace, understand and integrate new sources of data including digital and e-commerce.
  • Proactively discover, innovate and experiment with new areas of analytics for business impact - Ensuring all current tools/ approaches we use are constantly updated.
  • Play a pivotal role in guiding CD, Marketing teams on all commercial activation strategies including media planning, pricing and promotion decisions, data driven marketing and overall investment decisions.
  • Drive collaboration and partnership with other function teams in NACMI  teams to coordinate efforts, uncover & evolve mutually relevant opportunities, accelerate success, and advance the role of NA CMI as an advisor for a broad array of Colgate Partners
  • Defining and implementing a new curriculum for analytics for the broader organization – including ecommerce, digital etc
  • Define and continuously update visualization and communication strategies and plans
  • Building a higher level relationship with key suppliers – current and new

 

Required qualifications:

  • 10-20  years experience in CPG (Consumer Products Goods), banking/finance, insurance, media agencies, ecommerce  firms or other relevant sales/marketing experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 year’s experience working with multiple sources of data and suppliers  ( including advanced analytics)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Pricing and Promotion Elasticity and modeling, Decision Hierarchy, Portfolio . Optimization/ Assortment, Forecasting and Predictive Analytics
  • Experience & Knowledge  required  in digital data sources, advanced targeting/direct response and/or ecommerce data
  • Experience in breakthrough capabilities including Data Visualization and Artificial Intelligence a plus
  • Advanced Degree strongly preferred (MBA, Statistics)
