Corporate Treasury Manager

This position offers an excellent opportunity in the Corporate Treasury group at Colgate-Palmolive.  It will enhance the candidate’s knowledge of core Treasury functions, particularly capital markets, capital structure, pension investments and foreign exchange risk management, and will be primarily responsible for front office activities which include short term funding, management of pension investments and hedging the Company’s global foreign exchange risk.  In addition, the candidate will perform a wide range of duties relative to capital structure strategy while working cross-functionally within the broader Colgate Global Finance organization.  Working as part of the treasury team, this individual will periodically undertake financial modeling and analysis, deliver presentations/recommendations to senior management, and contribute to various cross-functional projects.

 

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Capital Markets Execution
    • Manage $2.5B U.S. and European Commercial Paper Programs in order to provide sufficient funding to meet Colgate’s working capital requirements and strategic initiatives
    • Coordinate Corporate multi-currency intercompany loan & cross currency swap portfolio in-line with risk management and funding guidelines
    • Support in the development of long term debt issuance strategies and recommendations considering internal funding requirements and market trends 

 

  • Capital Structure Strategy & Analysis
    • Analysis and execution of Colgate’s $5B Share Repurchase Program which includes management of share repurchase brokers and supports the development of repurchase strategies
    • Support in the development of Short Term funding and Long Term Capital Structure Projections considering external trends such as regulatory changes and market volatility
    • Development of reporting of Capital Structure metrics of Colgate and broader consumer products peer group, utilizing Bloomberg historical market data and financial disclosures
    • Collaborate with Corporate Tax, Supply Chain & Financial Reporting on Capital Structure projections and implications to Colgate
       
  • Management of Colgate’s Pension Investments
    • Overview over $4B in pension assets across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income or real estate) and plans (defined benefit and defined contribution)
    • Support the selection, monitoring and the replacement of investment managers, trustees and custodians
    • Support the periodic rebalancing of assets, including the processing of asset redemptions for the payment of plans’ benefits or expenses
    • Assist in the preparation of the plans’ financial reports (e.g. 11-K or form 5500)
    • Participate in the development and recommendation of investment policies and strategies to the Pension Fund Committee taking into consideration capital market assumptions and plans’ funding status targets

 

  • Foreign Exchange Risk Management
    • Monitor and provide insight into local market conditions for currencies in the Company’s key markets
    • Development of FX hedging recommendations
    • Request f FX trades, recording, and related reporting
    • Calculating, aggregation, and reporting of currency exposures by major currency, including the development of new and better tools for exposure capture and reporting
    • Assist with coordination of quarterly Financial Risk Management Committee meetings and support Regional Treasury Coordinators on FX related matters

 

 

Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Solid understanding of financial markets and drivers – (foreign exchange, interest rates, equities and commodities), cash management, and banking
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to details
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Focus on process improvement and implementation of best practices
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Google Suite
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, SAP and SAP Treasury module a plus
  • Experience with Macros and Scripting a plus

 

 

Education/Experience:  

  • BS degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA and/or CFA preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience in banking, treasury or finance functions
