Position Purpose:


The Plant Procurement Manager provides local leadership for the local the Procurement organization.  He/she will have responsibility to manage the plant Procurement teams in relation to people development and headcount/budget management, etc.  He/She is responsible for resolving service and quality issues for the plant.  He/she will ensure the identification, implementation and maintenance of the lowest “total cost” supply strategies, in alignment with the Division and Global Procurement.



Let’s talk about responsibilities:


  • Accountable for the Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and working with the local Supply Chain team
  • Executes effective negotiations for specific local raw and packaging materials
  • Implements and monitors the Purchasing budget for the specific materials of responsibility
  • Responsible for Cost of Sale preparation with Division Procurement Manager
  • Accountable for optimizing raw and packing material inventories against Customer Service and working capital targets
  • Ensures the highest level of Customer Service is provided to our Customers through the development and maintenance of order replenishment best practices
  • Interfaces with suppliers’ sales, technical and other functional groups as well as Colgate Supply Chain, Technology, Marketing and Finance functions to enforce Purchasing policies, resolves issues, aligns service and financial strategies
  • Together with New Product launch teams, ensures new products are executed effectively at the local plant
  • Contributes to local Funding the Growth Programs
  • Executes efforts in using “e-tools” (auctions, e-Savings, etc.) to help drive Funding the Growth, simplification and standardization programs
  • Coordinates implementation of SMI with appropriate suppliers for the relevant plant(s)
  • Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive, and governmental guidelines related to EOHS, Quality, and Regulatory for materials of responsibility.  Develops awareness, and influences compliance with local government laws and regulations pertaining to materials 
  • Develops documented understanding of local market structure and drivers for his/her materials, with risk management overview, and identifies opportunities and threats for the future
  • Provides management oversight for local Procurement professionals inclusive of  performance appraisals, budgetary responsibility and  delegation of work



What you need for this position:

  • B.A./B.S. Degree in a technical or business field, CPM and/or MBA desirable
  • 3-7 years Purchasing or Supply Chain experience (depending on plant complexity); 2-5 years of management experience; SAP experience is an advantage
