The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Analyst is responsible for appropriately ordering inventory for customers to support replenishment, promotions and other peak periods of demand, independently or in partnership with customer reorder buyers/replenishment specialists.  This role establishes multi-level relationships with individuals in varied supply chain disciplines within the customer as well as internally within the multi-functional selling team in order to ensure maximum effectiveness. The VMI analyst will serve as liaison between CDO and Supply Chain to assure desired alignment, communication and drive flawless execution.  They will work with CP supply chain on all stock out or potential stock out issues and assist in the resolution of potential stock outs by advising the customer of the approximate amount of time required to correct the problem. The analyst will develop a plan of action with the customer in order to minimize service issues and ensure that all customer service requirements (i.e. lead time fill rate, transit time, order cycle time) are fully defined and measured. They will also serve as backup role to existing VMI Customers.  This position supports the Kroger grocery team and sits in the Cincinnati, OH office.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and Collaborate with the Kroger CDO team to input the demand plan into APO for promotional volume, new items and transitions.
  • Work closely with the Category Demand Planners in NY to communicate any changes to the demand plan around increased volume, POG changes, new and deleted items.  
  • Manage vendor collaboration software tool to process daily demand to keep to customer in stock goals while balancing days of supply goals
  • Collaborate on volume projections based upon sales calendar, new item introductions, in-stock objectives and presentation levels
  • Utilize/validate Customer Data (POS and Customer Forecast, EDI 852 data)
  • Responsible for resolving discrepancies between customer master data and our master data.
  • Work with each respective customer to receive their internal measurements of our performance and compare with our own measurements
  • Responsibility for new product execution with store level in-stock reporting
  • Serve as liaison between CDO and Customer Service to assure strong execution of the order fulfillment process
  • Provide knowledge of best practices and CP Logistics capabilities a part of a cross-functional team
  • Participate in sales presentations and customer visits in effort to develop continuous improvement objectives
  • Review Metrics weekly to identify Service Level, DOS, Excess dollars, and aged inventory for each customer warehouse

     

    Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree required
  • 3 years minimum of Customer Service / Logistics / Supply Chain experience with a strong understanding of operations required
  • Understanding of supply chain principles including forecasting, replenishment, ordering and related customer service functions.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers
  • Detail oriented and self motivated
  • Strong analytical and customer service experience
  • SAP System knowledge preferred: including; R/3, Business Warehouse, APO
  • Experience with other supply chain software packages preferred (Datalliance, JDA, Manugistics, etc)

Sales/Commercial Team knowledge preferred
