Within North America trade, Credit & Collections department is responsible for  providing strategic direction and oversight to enhance the effectiveness of business operations by delivering best in class service level on Accounts Deduction,  ensuring ongoing interaction/alignment with Customer Development Teams, Customer Development Finance and the Colgate Business Service Center Mexico and (3) serving as the primary point of contact for subsidiaries’ GM, Finance, and Sales Directors.

The NA Credit to Cash Manager, reporting to the US Customer Development Finance Director and managing a local team of 6 members, continuously improves the financial and operational processes of the group $3 billion portfolio.

 

Key responsibilities are:

 

Credit, deduction, cash application:

  • Monitor key performance metrics to measure the quality and efficiency of deductions/collection processes.
  • Lead the month end process: measure monthly performance against KPIs, prepare summary of commentary, closing meeting slides, bad debt reserve analysis, cash discount reserve analysis
  • Correspond with customers, CDO and CBS regarding past due balances to resolve credit hold situations and involve CDO if Revenue Analyst unable to get information from customer.
  • Approve new credit limits for customers.
  • Move legal accounts to suspense ledger write off bad debts and prepare and file bankruptcy claims and then monitor bankruptcy progress.
  • Own the post-audit process.
  • Other activities include: participation and administration of operation and business partnering

 

 

Control & Compliance:

  • Quarterly coordinate with External, Internal auditors and lead the annual Revenue SOX process on Revenue.
  • Ensure GTN control at all time :
    • Work actively with CDO/CBS to reinforce proof of performance discipline
    • Lead quarterly rebates/deduction aging reviews with CDT Finance Managers
    • Timely accounts reconciliation
    • Ensure revenue recognition policies are properly followed in accordance to GAAP.
    • Stay appraised of accounting, planning, control, financial analysis, and reporting developments. Partner with Corporate Controller’s organization to perform review of financial information to ensure that it is accurate and in compliance with reporting requirements for GAAP.

 

Leadership:

  • Coach direct reports, creating annual objectives for the team, and document performance and deliver / administer reviews and IDPs.
  • Elevate the CDT Finance/ CDO/CS&L financial understanding through regular workshop, training sessions.
  • Actively participate in credit share groups.

 

Continuous improvement:

  • Accelerate simplification with CDT Fin/ CBS /Customer Alliance reports and analytics.
  • Working with IT, drive system improvement in CBP account planning and account receivables analytics.
  • Ensure smooth implementation with S4 Hana / new CBP rollout.

  • Strong comfort level with applications like Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, CBP, and with learning new systems as needed.
  • Experience in Credit to Cash operations preferred.
