Job Purpose

The role will deliver budgeted sales and profit growth, whilst developing the operational and strategic partnerships between Colgate Palmolive and customer, within a balanced, mutually profitable business model.

 

What you will do

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the customer strategy, their shopper and how CP can optimise their brands and strategic intents within this environment. 
  • Co-Develop (with Boots), communicate and implement a 3 year strategy which underpins the day to day business interactions with Boots contacts and is fully aligned across both businesses
  • Negotiate and deliver an annual & 3 year rolling JBP which encapsulates the 3 shared strategic intent.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen in interrogating the business, in order to swiftly identify issues and opportunities for resolution/optimisation.
  • Build strong external networks, in order to improve customer engagement, gain a broader understanding of customer and be the first to identify new business solutions.
  • Act as the conduit for CP Shopper Marketing, Brand Marketing, Insights and .com to be external with Boots – seeking to unlock optimum working relationships and deliver commercial benefit to both businesses. 
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual net sales/margin/profit targets by developing tailored commercial plans & actively implementing them via a Joint Business Plan
  • Build strong internal networks in order to raise the profile, business focus and support for customer.
  • Work closely and creatively with CP Shopper Marketing and Brand Managers to identify, develop and implement the appropriate business solutions required to drive the business forward.
  • Accurately forecast volume/sales/investment through effective 5P planning and clear identification of risks and opportunities on a monthly cycle working closely with the Boots Customer Account Planner. 
  • Proactively tackle business development projects within the customer development function, to drive and influence the broader CP business
     

Who you are:

  • Commercially astute individual, with the ability to build strong business relationships whilst developing and implementing creative, balanced, mutually profitable business solutions.
  • Bright, ambitious character, with strategic capabilities, able to influence and negotiate both internally and externally, with a clear dedication to delivering business results in a timely manner.
  • Pharmacy background or experience of dealing with pharmacy customers would be beneficial
  • Be agile and adaptable to a rapidly changing customer with a significant number of supplier facings contacts.
  • Work with the appropriate level of creativity, whilst ensuring that the business decisions are mutually profitable and balanced for both parties.
